Once Upon A Dream (Part 3)

The next section is a continuation of part 2 , from the moment that the young woman who is narrating, first spotted the man who she gave up a marriage proposal, for.

I hope it's as good as the previous... :)

                         Once Upon A Dream
                                     Part 3

"What have you done?"

She cried out and he nearly fell off his seat as he looked up at me in awe, his eyes were blood shot and his face was overgrown in a thick hairy dark mess, his hair was long and he looked terribly unwashed.

"You came back?"

I sighed and the girl  from his time spoke for me, "just for a few days.  I had some business to take care of, then I'll be leaving."

He squinted his normally lovely eyes up and seeing him this way hurt both me and the version of me that he knew, it seemed like my leaving him hadn't been taken very well, he was sitting here looking like a lovelorn mess, I didn't understand.

Surely, something else had to have happened- no way was he so messed up over my leaving, he would have simply married me if he had cared....

But somehow deep down, we both knew the same thing- that my  departure was the reason for his downfall, and my returning had been a mistake- it was just going to be harder to leave him, now.

And I had to leave.

"I should go," she said for me and then he reached for my arm, so fast there wasn't time to move away.

His touch sent a prickly thrill of electric current racing through my body, my heart skipped a beat in time and I knew that the prior resident of my soul was feeling the same connection to him- because she hesitated instead of pulling straight away.

"I'm getting married," she finally hissed in my voice, pulling my-our- arm away from him, and he looked hurt, I felt shocked. Surely, I hadn't said yes... Nor had she.

Was she bluffing? Trying to stir up a reaction? Or had she simply realized that he was a lost cause and that she needed to move on?

"I love you."

His words took both of us by surprise.

She laughed, and in my heart I knew I probably might have laughed too- this was the talk of a drunken desperate man and who knew if it was honest?

"It's too late!" She spat, no meeting his eyes... Truthfully? It was never too late.

I had to go... Now!

He grabbed me roughly then, I could have never been afraid of him past or present, and yet the sight  of him staring at me so passionately was almost scary- especially when he didn't let me go.

Every nerve in my body lit up with a million passions as he slowly leaned in to kiss me, my former self was as shocked as I was.

How could a man who let me go however long ago, be so fiery with his kisses?

His hands gripped my sides and his tongue found mine, but the me from his time, the one possessing me,  tore away from his lustful grasp, she was obviously a very fiery woman- I wanted to curse her for ending something so romantic... Something which I myself yearned for.

"I said-"

He cut me off with yet another earth shattering kiss, she stopped fighting him as he held me tenderly and I felt my own emotions come spilling over as his hand weaved into my hair pulling the bun down and then tracing the veins in my neck, each of his touches made me shiver and made little goose bumps erupt
all over me, I was eager to get closer to him, he was the entire word- in that moment.

When the kiss broke off, I was breathless and almost hurt that he had been the one to end it, but his words shocked me to my very core... All I wanted was more.

"Don't you know that we're soul mates?"

That's when it happened, when suddenly  both parts of my soul-old and new- reached agreement, because there was no doubt, I couldn't hide from the truth any longer... This was my destiny.

He was my fate.

As my heart thundered in my chest and this amazing calm settled over me; I knew that despite everything that this was where I was belonged, this was true love- and it would never truly end.
